I Say: Just Ignore It.

by admin on Dec.30, 2008, under SEO BlackHat

Hypothetical Question:

Imagine you just had your most profitable year. You bought a beach house for cash and spent 8 months away from it traveling the world working only 10 hours a week.

Then some random who got his first Credit Card in August of this year says you “fell off”.

This “baller” complains that ASW should be free or “at most $100″, brags about $1 sushi night, and stays with the Trailer Park Grannies at the Gold Coast in Vegas.

What would you do?

Would you post a scandalous pic of his Thai “Girlfriend”:

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
(even if you couldn’t remember if she’s the one on the right or the left)

or would you just ignore it?

Since When Does ā€˜Top 89th Percentile’ Mean ā€˜Douchebag’? (Since Always!)

B+

The Top 89th percentile.

Not too shabby - right?

Oh - but how wrong you would be to agree!

It’s not too bad if we’re talking about IQ. The 89th percentile on the curve would be someone who scores a 119 on an IQ test .)

But the absolute worst example of someone above the 88th percentile comes to us from Rentacoder’s rating system.

One of the bids we received to code a projects comes from this profile:

Renacoder Rankings

This person tried 1 job once before, didn’t complete it, and got a 1 (horrible) out of 10 rating from feedback.

Think about that.

Now consider that this person is ranked #26,539 out of 236,569 coders at Rent-a-coder.

He did one (and only one) job and got the lowest rating possible for that job. “I know; Let’s put him in the top 88th percentile!”

My question is: what the FUCK do you have to do to score LOWER than the top 88th percentile? 2 unfinished jobs with a rating of 1 (horrible)!?!

What if you just replied to the job postings in Swahili? What does that get you? in the top 60th percentile?

Shit . . . you could probably molest the children of whoever posts a job and still be in the top 50%!

Clearly their Ranking system is fucked.

When you think about it, though, search engines rank pretty much the same way. The top 10 positions in a given SERP will garner 88.7% of all clicks. Positions 11-1000 in the SERPs account for only 11.3% of clicks ( breakdown

Most webmaster fail to launch a successful website or product because of lack of knowledge and not being prepared.

The second step is to write quality articles related to whatĀ  is being promoted. These are better written by oneself if the skill level is sufficient to produce high quality. If the webmaster has poor language skills or overall poor writing skills, it is best to find quality writers to produce the articles. When hiring a writer, be sure to choose quality and not just go for cheap. To be a success, one wants to start with a quality product and in this case a well written article. The extra money spent up front will be earned ten-fold in the back end.

The third step in planning is to make sure the website or sales page is properly optimized for both the viewers and the search engines The worse thing in the world is to spend the time and money and run a successful marketing campaign only to send the potential customer to a crappy website. A good webmaster will read a whole bunch of seo articles
